i have heard great things about revlon colorstay foundation. but for people that have used it does it make pores minimized or cover them up completely or does it make pores look bigger?? every foundation i tried makes my pores look bigger.People who have used revlon colorstay?
i heard very good reviews about it, it is comaprable to mac's studio fix foudnation and i ehard that it does provide full covergae so it will cover ur pores, it looks natural and if u belnd it in it makes ur skin look very smootha dn poretty much flawless so yea it is a good foundation and if u go to youtube u can search revlon colorstay and there are bunch of videos that give feedback and reviews on it so hope this helps

Which one works better, revlon colorstay or maybelline dream matte?
okay i had really bad acne but its all gone now, but now i have acne scars and oily face especially my nose. i need a foundation that will last for the whole day and wont clog my pores AND cover my scars. so which one works better, or if none post ur opinion.

dream matte mousee works the best for coverage, you only nees a small bit though, otherwise it can look caked on. i have tried colourstay aswell but i found i needed extra powder ontop which put the cost up considerably. i would reccomend dream matte, i wear it all the time. hope this helps : )

Yes Revlon Colorstay oily/combo is AWESOME!!! I have used it for 10+ years. I use Clean and Clear Dual Action Oil Free moisturizer under it. I never have a problem with it lasting all day, especially when I lightly powder before applying the rest of my makeup and then again about half way through the day. I apply mine with my Sonia Kashuk beautyblender dupe. I got it at target... It's purple (but I think they come in blue as well) and it looks kind of like one of those marshmallow peeps that come out around eastertime. I think it was $10.
I use it the way this gal does in her video:

I don't think it's hard to get off at all. I wash my face for about two minutes, twice a day (morning and night) with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, and I've never had a problem getting it all off.
All in all, yeah, I'd recommend it. Definitely worth a try! Keep your receipt though, just in case you buy the wrong color.

-dampen it slightly.
-put a dot of foundation on your forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin.
-blend into your hairline and Your neck.
-apply a powder with a kabuki brush to set it.
No, doesn't work. Use Everyday Minerals instead. Doesn't clog pores and is great for oily skin. Plus, you can get free samples online.

i tried this foundation for about 2 months and i would say its a relatively good foundation but not the best. it's pretty thick and hard to blend without a wet sponge. and when it comes to fair people (me) it's hard to get your color. it's either too pink or too yellow.
but it's worth a try. it's different for everyone.

I've tried so many foundations, high end and drugstore brand, but honestly, Revlon Color Stay is probably one of my favorite drugstore foundations.
It covers essentially anything, any zit, and makes your skin near to flawless, it will also cover any freckles. Definitely worth the relatively small amount of money, and you will be satisfied. All my friends/family I know, tried it, and loved it!

It's really good! Especially for a drugstore brand. It really does last as long as you blend it well and set it with a good powder. It has a very smooth, laytex-y feel to it after you apply it. It's not a bad thing, I swear. I would say try it. Definitely. :]

How nude is the new nude colorstay lipstick from Revlon?
They have this new color called Smooth Nude or something like that. I saw a picture of it, and it looks like it'd be okay for my skintone, but I'm not sure. Has anyone used it? Twist the whole black top out. The part that you can twist on top is the brush inside. When you get it open, you'll have to remove the covering, but keep the part with holes. It provides a medium to full coverage and gives a satin finish. It has SPF 15 and provides both yellow and neutral undertones. This is very long wearing, with little to no touch ups. Blending with this foundation is a bit difficult, you can't use a sponge. I use a brush and stipple the foundation instead because if you don't stipple it, it will look streaky unless you spend a few extra minutes carefully blending it away. Regardless, a top notch foundation from Revlon. Revlon provides to both oily and normal skin. So make sure you choose the right formula for your skin type. Should I put moisturizing cream before applying revlon colorstay liquid foundation ?
when i use revlon colorstay liquid foundation , I always put ';Avon rich moisture cream'; as a base, and now I noticed that after few hours (3-4 hours), my face starts becoming oily ....

I would do a test to see if your face is oily within the same amount of time without the foundation (just the base).
If you have oily skin you not be using moisture cream because it is for a dry skin, cream products sometime have more oil in the makeup of the product. I think that the Revlon colorstay has a oil base to it and if you use it you may need to finish your foundation with powder to help seal it. make sure both the moisturizer AND the foundation are oil free. If it doesn't say ';oil free'; on the bottle it probably isn't. I dont think that either of them are. So your skin may be able to handle the oil in the foundation but not the possible oil in the moisturizer. It is getting warm which causes makeup with oil to kinda melt so that may be the problem too. If all else fails or you just dont want to switch makeup, dust on a layer of powder to set your makeup.
neutrogena and purpose both have a good oil free moisturizer with sunscreen that is light enough to put on under makeup

omg i hate loreal true match. it made my skin look like it had a gray tinge to it, exaggerated my fine lines and pores, and left patches on my skin. it was probably the worst foundation i've ever used. i haven't tried the revlon colorstay but i like loreal bare naturale. to be honest, there isn't a drugstore liquid foundation that i've tried that i really really liked. there aren't as many options for oily/combination skin as there is for dry skin but if i had to pick a liquid foundation i'll go with loreal visible lift.Loreal truematch or Revlon Colorstay foundation?
Loreal WILL break your skin out, even if you wash your sponge/brush everyday, there is something in it that just clogs up your skin! Suprisingly, the 16 hr lasting Revlon Colorstay does not! The Loreal truematch also gave my skin a grey ';bruised'; look and after an hour, it gave me a VERY VERY oily shiny face, even after I put powder! It melts when you get hot and will wipe right off. I hated this foundation... The only cons about Revlon is that you really have to make sure you blend the foundation fast enough ( I reccommend a brush!) before it dries and use a little bit at a time or you WILL look cakey. After your foundation sets on your skin for about 5 mins, your skin will have a natural semi matte glow. You can dust or blott a powder or powder foundation over it to make sure the foundation stays in place and you shouldnt have to reapply ANYMORE powder for a good 6-9 hours, if needed! The other con is that they dont have a lot of golden or yellow tones...they are slightly more on the orange/pink side... but I make it work with a light golden powder on top! I love this makeup and it's WAY better than MAC too! Walmart sells it for $10! :) Good luck!

The mineral foundation looked cake-y and fake, and the liquid was very ';pasty'; feeling when applying, and didn't look at all natural. I loved the idea of a foundation that would last, but this wasn't it. If you're looking for a recommendation, Clinique makes a few long-lasting foundations (Super-Fit is one of them). I prefer the Estee Lauder loose mineral powder for it's long-lasting, natural look. A primer base is essential with this (Mac, SmashBox, and Laura Geller make nice ones)...you want one with a silicone base. I love it so much! I think it's definitely the best drugstore foundation and it's also been compared to many high-end ones.

How well do you like the Revlon ColorStay foundation? I've heard it's very heavy though, and I wondering if it's too heavy. I use Revlon Colorstay Active (Lite) everyday. I have combination skin which is very sensitive and which clogs easily with anything. This foundation has been very very nice to my skin. No adverse effects at all. It gives you light to medium coverage. Looks and feels like you have no makeup on. I have not tried the other colorstay versions so I don't know about those. But this one is worth trying. Be sure to MOISTURIZE your face atleast 10-15 min. before you apply it. It makes a lot of difference. Otherwise it is a little tricky to blend. Apply it on one area at a time so it will be easier to blend. If you get the technique, it is wonderful. It stays put in humidity, hot weather. I have been using and love the brand Bee Luscious Cosmetics Liquid Powder Mineral Foundation its wonderful and works like a real charm. Light and airy on your skin sheer yet great coverage. It lets your skin breath which is what I love so much about it. Look into it you will be very pleasantly surprised.

I like wearing MAC makeup, but if I had to choose a drug store makeup the revlon colorstay is the only one I would use. I actually switch back and forth between mac studio fix foundation and revlon colorstay. The revlon actually works better to be honest, it's transfer resistant and stays fresh looking ALL day. I like the way my skin looks a little better with the MAC, but it's almost not worth it because it rubs off so easy! I've been debating going back to the revlon foundation and just using MAC powder, which I think I will after I run out of my current foundation. Another pro on the revlon colorstay, they have revlon colorstay active, which is sweat/ water resistant! It's supposed to be for when you exercise, but I wear it when it's hot or humid outside to avoid the spots where my sunglasses meet my nose from getting messed up. I like wearing MAC makeup, but if I had to choose a drug store makeup the revlon colorstay is the only one I would use. I actually switch back and forth between mac studio fix foundation and revlon colorstay. The revlon actually works better to be honest, it's transfer resistant and stays fresh looking ALL day. I like the way my skin looks a little better with the MAC, but it's almost not worth it because it rubs off so easy! I've been debating going back to the revlon foundation and just using MAC powder, which I think I will after I run out of my current foundation. Another pro on the revlon colorstay, they have revlon colorstay active, which is sweat/ water resistant! It's supposed to be for when you exercise, but I wear it when it's hot or humid outside to avoid the spots where my sunglasses meet my nose from getting messed up. I wish I could be more help, but as far as matching #20, go with the palest gold undertone that revlon makes, and MUFE's#48 is like a med-deep tan with a slight cool tint to it. - I don't remember what the rest of the mufe shades look like off the top of my head... Well, I have oily skin so I use the oily/combination skin version, which has a black top. It doesn't look dry on me at all (probably because I have oily skin, lol). I have it! I'm actually wearing it right now, as a matter of fact. I really, honestly, genuinely like it. And I usually don't like liquid foundations, so that's saying a lot.
I apply mine with my Sonia Kashuk beautyblender dupe. I got it at target... It's purple (but I think they come in blue as well) and it looks kind of like one of those marshmallow peeps that come out around eastertime. I think it was $10.
I use it the way this gal does in her video:

I don't think it's hard to get off at all. I wash my face for about two minutes, twice a day (morning and night) with Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser, and I've never had a problem getting it all off.
All in all, yeah, I'd recommend it. Definitely worth a try! Keep your receipt though, just in case you buy the wrong color.

-apply a powder with a kabuki brush to set it.
No, doesn't work. Use Everyday Minerals instead. Doesn't clog pores and is great for oily skin. Plus, you can get free samples online.

How nude is the new nude colorstay lipstick from Revlon?
They have this new color called Smooth Nude or something like that. I saw a picture of it, and it looks like it'd be okay for my skintone, but I'm not sure. Has anyone used it? i just bought the revlon colorstay liquid foundation, and i set it with NYC press powder, but it seem unnatural after i set it. It's quite difficult to find a yellow-based shade in this line. I haven't used CG foundations for many years because I cannot find a shade that matches my Chinese (MAC NC20-25) skin tone.

i've been looking up countless foundations to buy online and the two that keep coming up as good are the mac studio fix and revlon colorstay, i want a foundation that basically makes you look airbrushed and not plastic and cakey like girls in my school!

I use the lightest (Ivory) shade in the Revlon Colorstay Foundation and personally I think it's great.
The trick is: that I mix a dollop of the foundation with a little bit of moisturizer and liquid highlighter. This will keep the foundation light and natural instead of giving you a ';cakey'; look. Then I make sure to blend it well into your skin and apply some translucent powder over the foundation. This mix makes sure than the foundation blends with your skin tone and doesn't cover your natural skin's color. It also prevents you from looking orange.
Also the quality of the Revlon foundation is practically the same as the MAC's studio fix.

I LOVE revlon colorstay. It doesn't make me breakout and people give me compliments on my skin all the time saying I look like a porcelain doll. I would recommend it! To test for your color; go to the store, open a couple of shades and dab them on your neck. Then walk outside and see which one matches the best. It took me a few times to find the right shade but it was SO worth it! Also, you can go to mac and request a sample of your exact color match and take it with you to the drugstore and match it that way so you don't have to open the bottles. Good Luck!

As for MAC, your best bet would be to visit the counter. They color match you on the spot.

I use the lightest (Ivory) shade in the Revlon Colorstay Foundation and personally I think it's great.
The trick is: that I mix a dollop of the foundation with a little bit of moisturizer and liquid highlighter. This will keep the foundation light and natural instead of giving you a ';cakey'; look. Then I make sure to blend it well into your skin and apply some translucent powder over the foundation. This mix makes sure than the foundation blends with your skin tone and doesn't cover your natural skin's color. It also prevents you from looking orange.
Also the quality of the Revlon foundation is practically the same as the MAC's studio fix.

I LOVE revlon colorstay. It doesn't make me breakout and people give me compliments on my skin all the time saying I look like a porcelain doll. I would recommend it! To test for your color; go to the store, open a couple of shades and dab them on your neck. Then walk outside and see which one matches the best. It took me a few times to find the right shade but it was SO worth it! Also, you can go to mac and request a sample of your exact color match and take it with you to the drugstore and match it that way so you don't have to open the bottles. Good Luck!

I want to change my eyeliner, but I don't know which one to use. Right now I'm using the Urban Decay 24/7 Eyeliner, and I do like it, but since it's so creamy, sometimes it can be a bit messy for me, and the one thing I HATE is that I have to keep sharpening it, since it's so creamy, it gets blunt after like 1-2 uses. YES, its the best drugstore foundation, and literally a duplicated for M.A.C's Studio Fix.
Dream Matte Mousse is in noway comparable, its absolutely awful. It clogs, its too orange and it made my skin absolutely awful. Revlon on the other hand has an amazing colour range and two choices of the foundation, one for dry skin and one for oily. There's also a lot more product %26amp; coverage. I use Maybelline Mineral Power and its natural looking, but not long lasting. I've heard Revlon Colourstay last a really long time, but I hate when you can tell Im wearing foundation, does it look natural? Could I combine it with moisturiser?

As long as it matches your skin tone, I think it'll look natural. One thing to know about this foundation is that it's very very thick. So less is more. If you put on too much, it's going to look really really bad.
You can get more of a sheer coverage with it by stippling it on with a stippling brush - I've also used a flat top brush the same way as the stippling brush and it works fine. The key is to not get too much product on the brush (You can youtube videos on how to do it). It dries pretty quickly, so work on one area of your face at a time - I suggest starting from the outer areas and moving your way in.
You can also try Rimmel's Lasting Finish foundation. It's supposed to last 16 hours and be transfer resistant. I haven't personally tried it, but I've heard really good things about it and it's staying power.

i switched to hip creamliner by loreal. and i got mine from walgreens on bogof, 11 for 2 liners. im still so happy about it. :)
the stay power is the same with colorstay. but i like it better because it's creamy and is easier to put on. i use my own eyeliner brush not the one that is provided in the box. but yeah, i love my hip creamliner.
Loreal hip has great pigment or Prestige is sold at Ulta in the mass section for like $3.99 and it is awesome! It stays on and is so smooth and great pigment. The one that you can sharpen not the mechanical, it is sold in like every color, too.

i switched to hip creamliner by loreal. and i got mine from walgreens on bogof, 11 for 2 liners. im still so happy about it. :)
the stay power is the same with colorstay. but i like it better because it's creamy and is easier to put on. i use my own eyeliner brush not the one that is provided in the box. but yeah, i love my hip creamliner.
Loreal hip has great pigment or Prestige is sold at Ulta in the mass section for like $3.99 and it is awesome! It stays on and is so smooth and great pigment. The one that you can sharpen not the mechanical, it is sold in like every color, too.

I think that you have combination skin. I think that you should get the Revlon foundation that's made for oily/combination skin. If you pick the normal/dry foundation, then you would have breakouts. It will make your skin more oily. The foundation won't last on your skin longer because it's not made for oily skin.
If you want more spf coverage, you can put on sunscreen before you apply your foundation. You can also buy a separate mineral powder foundation with spf and layer it on top of the foundation. What do you think of Revlon Colorstay Mineral Foundation?

I was an avid user of Bare Minerals for several years until recently when the drug store brands came out with their own versions. I tried them all and the one brand I found to be most like Bare Minerals was Maybelline Mineral Power. It is about half the price and almost just the same. It works very well and will last you awhile. I recommend the Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation and the Natural Perfecting Concealer (which compares to MAC's.) Good luck!

I tried them all and the one brand I found to be most like Bare Minerals was Maybelline Mineral Power. It is about half the price and almost just the same. It works very well and will last you awhile. I recommend the Natural Perfecting Powder Foundation and the Natural Perfecting Concealer (which compares to MAC's.) Good luck!
